You're an obese apple...

So I will admit, I've been called a lot of things over the years, but thanks to the polite words of the Internet I have to say I'm at a loss for words. After doing some reading it has come to my attention that not only should I be tracking my weight loss but I should also take into account other factors as well.

I did some Google searches and came across a website called www.ivillage.com. They have a tool to quickly calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index). So I plugged in some numbers and found out my BMI is currently 34.37. At first I'm like, hey, that isn't so bad... but apparently that IS pretty bad. According to their charts I'm not only obese but I'm, "An Obese Apple" and that is not a reference to the healthy fruit. ;-)

The most interesting part is that in order to be considered at a 'healthy weight' on the BMI index I not only need to lose the 55lbs in my plan, but an additional 28lbs. Wow, that would put me at a staggering 195lbs. Well, don't get me wrong, that would be just delightful, but I thought the whole "starving white boy" look was out this year.

Oh well, at any rate I'm still on for the total 55 lbs, I've even managed to cut 3lbs of water weight out over the past 48 hours... well, this obese apple needs to get ready for work. Speaking of apples, that is part of my test plan this week. 1 apple each morning with my low-fat yogurt for breakfast. Wish me luck! ;-)
